印度BMD猛進 可防禦5千公里飛彈

印度國防研究發展組織所研發的導彈防禦系統(BMD)即將有大幅度的成長，有效範圍將從2千公里提升到5千公里。

印度Live Mint新聞網昨(16)日引述國防研究發展組織(Defence Research and Development Organisation, DRDO)首腦錢德爾(Avinash Chander)的發言，指出這個彈道防禦系統(Ballistic Missile Defense System，BMD)的第1階段已經發展完成，並且已經可以部署在首都。目前這個系統可以對付2千公里外發射來的飛彈。

印度國防研究發展組織在第2階段將提升飛彈防禦系統的能力，以有效對付5千公里外發射來的飛彈。

錢德爾表示，該單位即將進行第2階段防禦系統的測試，檢驗這個系統摧毀敵方從5千公里外發射的飛彈之能力。被詢問到這個新的系統是否可以涵蓋來自中國的導彈攻擊威脅時，錢德爾的答覆是：這樣的導彈防禦能力可以面對任何假想的立即威脅。

印度國防研究發展組織將在巴拉索爾(Balasore)試射1枚飛彈，然後在安達曼(Andaman)或尼科巴(Nicobar)攔截這枚飛彈。
